Introducing Suzette (Pullip Io)

Look what came in the mail this week!

Pullip Io
"Like the blue sky, Like the green forest, Like the pitch black night... Wearing colors and stepping out with excited... Feel Like So."

Pullip Io was released in August.  She has a peacock theme and has a very elaborate stock outfit.

Here she is with everything except her hat

...and with her hat (but no gloves)
I don't seem to have a pic of her with her whole outfit.  Here is a shot of her hair out of the box:

Her hair is a little dull
Her wig is a pretty light shade of pink.  There are short layers around her face, and she has large ringlets in the back.  Her bangs have a weird part above them and part of her wig cap shows by her bangs.  I'm thinking I will probably rewig her at some point anyhow so I'm not terribly worried about it.

There's that weird part over her bangs!
Her faceup is absolutely gorgeous!  Although I have no other Pullips to compare her to, I love how subtle and soft her faceup is.  And her sparkly turquoise eyes are so pretty!

I think I will name her Suzette
I will probably change her into a more casual outfit soon, but for now, she will stay just as she is in my craft room.  I can't wait to start sewing for her!

Here is my unboxing video, which got kind of mangled, so I had to voice-over it:

I am so in love with Pullip that I've decided to collect them exclusively, so I will be selling my Tangkou dolls.  It will be sad to see them go, but I kind of suspected when I bought them that I might end up selling them.  I wanted to get into dolls, but I didn't want to spend the money on a Blythe or Pullip... And once I got my Tangkou dolls I knew I would enjoy doll collecting (especially sewing, knitting, and photography sides of the hobby)... But they just don't have the same "pretty factor" that Pullips have.  They are really cool and funky though, and I'm sure I'll find them a good home.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Feel free to leave me a comment below!

Autumn photo shoot with Sophie

This morning the sun was shining beautifully on the rock in our backyard, so Sophie and I went outside   for an early morning photoshoot.  I set the aperture to 2.8 and then practiced using the light meter in the camera to set the shutter speed.  But sometimes I forgot to change the settings.  There is a lot to remember!

I snapped this shot of Sophie's doll while she was taking her own pics

Sophie is becoming a great photographer!

I took some photos of my Tangkou doll too:

I think she spots something off to the right!
Dolls make a great subject matter for practicing photography, as they are so compliant (for the most part)!

This was fun!
